Fillings & Cavities
-
What causes dental cavities?
Cavities form when bacteria in the mouth produce acids that erode the tooth’s enamel. Poor brushing, frequent snacking, or sugary drinks accelerate this process.
-
When does a cavity need a filling?
If you experience sensitivity, dark spots, or food lodgment, the tooth likely needs a filling to stop further decay and restore structure.
-
Are dental fillings painful?
Not at all. The procedure is typically painless. In case of any sensitivity or pain during the procedure we numb the area by local anaesthesia.
-
What materials are used for fillings?
Elara Dental uses tooth-colored composite materials that blend naturally with your enamel for a seamless, long-lasting result.
-
How long does the filling procedure take?
Fillings are usually a single sitting procedure but we might call you for second sitting for polishing of that filling. In some cases more than two sittings might be required. The duration varies based on the cavity’s size and location but generally ranges from 40 minutes to an hour.
-
Are there any dietary restrictions after getting a filling?
Not as such.
-
Are these fillings for life long ?
With regular dental visits you can prolong the life of the dental fillings or any other dental treatment and your own teeth .
