    Frequently Asked Questions

    • Implants

      • What is a dental implant?

A dental implant is a small titanium screw surgically placed into the jawbone to replace a missing tooth root. Once healed, it supports a crown, bridge, or denture that looks and functions like a natural tooth.

      • How long does the implant process take?

Implant procedure in done in two phases.

        1. IMPLANT PLACEMENT – The procedure usually takes around 60 – 90 minutes
        2. PROSTHETIC PHASE – this is done 3-6 months after the first phase and requires 2-3 small sittings

The entire process can take 3–9 months, depending on healing time and whether bone grafting or other preparatory procedures are needed .

      • Is getting a dental implant painful?

Most patients report only mild discomfort during and after the procedure. Local anesthesia is used during surgery, and mild soreness can usually be managed with over-the-counter pain relief.

      • How long do dental implants last?

With proper care and maintenance, implants can last 15–25 years or even a lifetime. The crown on top may need replacement after 10–15 years due to normal wear

    • Aligners

    • Braces

      • What are dental braces used for?

Braces help correct misaligned teeth, gaps, and bite issues by applying gentle, consistent pressure to move teeth into proper alignment over time.

      • What types of braces are available?

We offer metal, ceramic (tooth-colored), and self-ligating braces. Your dentist will recommend the best option based on your alignment needs and aesthetic preferences.

      • How long does treatment with braces take?

On average, 12 to 24 months, depending on the complexity of the case. Minor corrections may take less time, while more extensive adjustments can take longer.

      • Do braces hurt?

You might feel slight soreness or tightness after placement or adjustments — this is normal and usually subsides within a few days. Discomfort can be managed easily with mild pain relief if needed.

      • How do I take care of my teeth with braces?

Brush after every meal, use an interdental brush or floss threader, and avoid sticky, chewy, or hard foods that could damage the brackets or wires.

      • How often are follow-up visits needed?

Typically every 4–6 weeks, to adjust the wires and track your progress.

      • Can adults get braces too?

Yes. Braces are effective at any age, and many adults choose ceramic or self-ligating options for a more discreet look.

    • Tooth Sensitivity & Pain

    • Root Canal Treatment (RCT)

      • When do I need a root canal?

When decay or infection reaches the tooth’s nerve, causing deep pain, swelling, or sensitivity to hot/cold.

      • Is a root canal painful?

With modern anesthesia and technology, it’s virtually painless. Patients often feel relief soon after the procedure.

      • How long does it take?

Not at all. The procedure is typically painless. In case of any sensitivity or pain during the procedure we numb the area by local anaesthesia.

      • What materials are used for fillings?

The duration of a root canal procedure varies depending on the tooth’s condition and complexity. Most treatments are completed in one to three appointments, each lasting about 45 to 75 minutes. We ensure comfort at every step. The time gap between two appointments varies from case to case but is generally 2-3 days.

      • Do I need a crown after RCT?

Yes. A crown strengthens and protects the treated tooth, preventing fractures or reinfection.

      • Will I need to take time off work or can i drive myself back home after the treatment?

Most patients can return to their normal activities on the day of the procedure. However, any discomfort or pain can be relieved with painkillers.

      • Can a root canal fail?

Rarely, but possible if infection persists or the tooth wasn’t fully sealed. Regular follow-ups ensure success.

    • Scaling & Cleaning

      • Is scaling necessary if I brush daily?

Yes — brushing removes surface plaque, but scaling cleans deeper tartar buildup that brushing cannot reach.

      • Does scaling make teeth loose?

No. Teeth may feel slightly mobile after cleaning because of tartar removal, but it’s temporary. Scaling actually helps strengthen gum health.

      • How often should I get my teeth cleaned?

Ideally every 6 months. More frequent sessions may be needed if you smoke, have gum issues, or high tartar buildup.

      • Is the procedure painful?

Most patients find it comfortable. If your gums are sensitive, a numbing gel can be applied.

      • Will scaling make my teeth white?

Scaling removes stains and tartar, so teeth appear cleaner and brighter — but it’s not a whitening procedure.

      • How long does the procedure take?

A regular scaling session usually takes 30–60 minutes. It is mostly a single sitting procedure but if there’s heavy tartar buildup or gum disease, multiple sessions (2-3) may be needed with a gap of 1-2 days .

      • Are there any side effects?

The most common side effects are mild gum sensitivity and slight bleeding but this is temporary ,bleeding goes away within few minutes and sensitivity goes away within a week.

    • Fillings & Cavities
